It has been great for the community and has so much to offer for all age groups. Barry and Naomi who run the pub have completely transformed it into a welcoming dog friendly and family place to go and have gone above and beyond in their quest to make it a really good village hub with great entertainment such as live music, quiz nights, homemade pizza nights, book club, chatty cafe mornings etc. A wonderful addition to the Village and they really deserve to be congratulated.
It is a fantastic pub, with brilliant caring community focused owners. Great facilities at the pub with a wonderful spacious garden. They also offer a chatty cafe scheme to help beat rural social isolation.
Great landlord and landlady who are always very welcoming. Delicious food and reasonably priced drinks. Dog friendly. Lots of entertainment put on regularly including music, quiz nights, darts and pool.
Naomi and Barry at the Wheel of Fortune have made their pub a wonderful place to be for so many people in Alpington and beyond. They are so warm, friendly and work so hard organising all sorts of fun events whilst getting all of the basics right - great food ( their pizzas are to die for) excellent, well kept, reasonably priced beers, plenty of games and quizzes and a lovely garden. They are part of the chatty cafe scheme which has provided a lifeline to the elderly and lonely in Alpington. It’s time they were chosen as the best pub in the area!
Such a great little village pub. They’re really working on growing giving the locals a great place to socialise and get to know another. Food is great and a lovely beer garden. Such a hidden gem!
A local asset that has been brought up from it's knees by a young couple, new to the industry, making it a community hub giving support to many locals and the wider community.
The pub is always clean and well presented, and the staff are always happy to see you. They remember you on a personal level and go above and beyond to make you smile. Darts, pool table, beer gardens, food, local food and drink. Such a lovely well run pub. Needs to be put on the map more!
The Wheel is a 'Tardis!! Barry and Naomi are wonderful landlords. It is a proper 'local", a small traditional pub with good beer and excellent food. It provides excellent food, and is the hub of the community, hosting darts teams, pool. and the social gatherings of the football team. the regular pub quiz and the Chatty Cafe. The venue for village events, e.g. Coronation and D-Day celebrations, it welcomes organisations like the Friends of St. Marys to use its premises. It holds a Beer Festival, a Christmas Fair, and live music. It has accommodation chalets and will soon open a village shop.
It is the community hub, not just a pub but a venue that brings people together to socialise, share, communicate and make new friends. They hold the Chatty Café each week and host many other events throughout the year. There's great food and beer selection with a superb beer garden and children's play area. There are pub games and teams who play in local leagues. There's always a warm welcome when you walk in the door, whether you're a regular or a stranger. It's everything a village pub should be.
Always a warm welcome from the team. Fabulous food, great beer, friendly atmosphere.
Wonderfully friendly and cosy pub. Just love it. Always get a warm welcome and a friendly smile.
A true community pub with so much on offer for a diverse demographic of a village and its surrounds. Social events, community events and which supports local sports teams and local businesses.
I have been to thousands of pubs in my life but never have I felt more at home than in "The Wheel". Naomi and Barry have done so much to make their pub the heart of the village. It is a special place!!
Really friendly pub and owners, great entertainment including quizes and live music. Lovely food and facilities and they go the extra mile to help people in the community
Amazing staff. Wonderful food.. great atmosphere.. very family and pet friendly also! By far one of the best pubs I’ve been to!
A friendly, comfortable pub with lots to offer. Good gardens for children, pets are welcome. Lots of space and a good menu with home cooked food.
Just an excellent run village pub. Always help out if anyone needs anything. Great beer. Great food. And just a place that brings people together all year round.
Visit this pub once or a hundred times and you're guaranteed a lovely, friendly welcome with excellent service. It's our 'fortune' to have this pub and the (very busy) team as part of the community - all ages and needs catered for with grace and a smile... and our pooches can 'paws' for a drink and snack too! 😊
Great staff and friendly landlords, welcoming to all. Children and pets are always welcome too. Good food, good entertainment. A cosy, lovely Norfolk family pub. Cannot recommend it more
Fantastic friendly pub, great food and range of entertainment. Love the chatty Cafe sessions bringing the community together going above and beyond your average pub
The Wheel is the heart of the village. It's where friends and strangers meet to share good times, great food, live music, a wonderful garden with children's play area, regular quiz nights, darts and pool, outdoor games and a warm welcome from Naomi and Barry. They host the (free) Chatty Café which brings people together who would not normally have a social life and this has proven to be hugely successful. All in all, it’s the perfect village pub.
